The City of Yokohama is considering a long-term plan to receive electricity generated from offshore wind power at Yokohama Port and supply it to the greater Tokyo metropolitan area, starting from the Yokohama waterfront, as part of its efforts to create a carbon-neutral port at Yokohama Port and realize a wide-area renewable energy supply. Therefore, the city conducted a survey on the status of initiatives in the offshore wind power generation industry targeting approximately 3,000 businesses, including construction, manufacturing, and technical service companies, with offices, branches, or factories located in Yokohama City.
